Nurturing a passion for learning
At Kaapsehoop Horse Trails we highly value learning and education. Therefor we offer various equine programmes. Further, learning in a natural environment while being active, is a fun way to gain knowledge and skills. Our programs include pony camps, educational school groups and volunteer programmes. We also cater for tailor made group packages and events.
Pony Camps
Pony camps are a great way to teach children valuable skills. Not only do they learn horse riding skills, but in addition they also learn better social skills. It provides the opportunity to make new friends and also encourages teamwork skills. The children benefit further by gaining an appreciation of nature and being in the outdoors. Furthermore they interact with the horses which has many physiological benefits. They get to groom the horses, learn the basics of stable management, caring for both the horses and the tack. They also learn about safety practices around horses. There is in addition to all the learning a lot of fun filled activities such as swimming at the waterfall on the plantation.
The camps are ideal for children aged 8 – 15 years. Beginner riders are most welcome and the children are under constant supervision.

Educational School Group Programs
We offer tailor-made packages for school groups. These educational programmes teach students basic stable management and horse riding principles. In addition, archery, hiking and swimming activities can be included in the program which in turn encourages teamwork. With the intention of a deeper educational level, basic survival guidance and a potted history of gold discovery in the area can also be included. Because our aim is that the kids should have both a unique and unforgettable learning experience, please do inform us of what you require. Thereafter leave the rest to us.
